Cancelling a ZIPAIR booking

A ZIPAIR cancellation is a one-way door. Once submitted through Manage Booking it cannot be reversed, and what you get back depends entirely on timing, fare type and who cancelled. This page is the pre-flight check we run with every traveler before that button is pressed.

1-866-884-3459 is our independent assistance number. It is not ZIPAIR Tokyo's official phone number; the airline itself takes inquiries at zipair.net/en/help.

Voluntary vs. airline-initiated cancellation

You cancel (voluntary)

  • Standard fare: fare and add-ons forfeited; airport taxes/fees refunded on request
  • Flex Biz: voucher of 97% (30+ days), 77.6% (29–7 days) or taxes only (≤6 days)
  • Inside 24 hours of booking, 7+ days before a U.S. flight: full cash refund
  • Where to do it: Manage Booking on zipair.net, or through the agency that issued the ticket

ZIPAIR cancels (airline-initiated)

  • Full refund of the cancelled segment to the original payment method
  • Applies to fare, add-ons and taxes for that segment
  • Request within 90 days of the scheduled boarding date
  • No liability for hotels, ground transport or missed connections — claim those on travel insurance
Verify before you act. Fare rules, fees and route details on this page reflect ZIPAIR's published conditions as of September 2026 and can change. Always confirm the current rule in your booking or on zipair.net before making a decision.

Timing tiers for Flex Biz — a calendar, not a fee

Unlike change fees, Flex Biz tiers are triggered by the number of days between cancellation and departure. Cancelling on day 30 vs. day 29 is the difference between 97% and 77.6% of the amount paid — on a $1,500 booking that is about $290. If your plans are uncertain and you are near a boundary, cancel before it, not after.

Cancel or no-show?

Travelers sometimes ask whether they should bother cancelling a standard fare at all. Yes: cancelling lets you request the taxes and airport fees back and keeps the record clean for any later dispute. A no-show forfeits everything, including taxes you could have recovered, and on a round trip may void the return.

Partial cancellation

ZIPAIR allows cancelling one direction of a round trip. Refund or voucher treatment applies to the cancelled portion only. This is useful when an outbound must move but the return is fine.
