ZIPAIR refund help for U.S. travelers
'Refundable' means something specific on ZIPAIR. Cash refunds exist in exactly two everyday situations — the U.S. 24-hour rule and airline-initiated changes — and everything else is either a voucher (Flex Biz) or a refund of taxes only. We confirm which case you are in, file the request correctly, and chase it if it stalls.

1-866-884-3459 is our independent assistance number. It is not ZIPAIR Tokyo's official phone number; the airline itself takes inquiries at zipair.net/en/help.
The four refund cases, explained
Case 1 — the airline cancelled or changed your flight
When ZIPAIR cancels a flight or changes the schedule, the fare, add-ons and taxes for the affected portion are refundable to your original payment method. If only one direction is affected, only that direction is refunded. ZIPAIR states it is not liable for consequential costs such as hotels, so keep expectations realistic and keep receipts anyway for travel insurance.
Case 2 — U.S. 24-hour rule
For flights to or from the United States, a booking cancelled within 24 hours of purchase and more than 7 days before departure is refunded in full to the original payment method — not as a voucher, even with Flex Biz. Both conditions must be met.
Case 3 — Flex Biz voucher
Flex Biz converts a non-refundable fare into a voucher-refundable one: 97% of the amount paid if you cancel 30+ days out, 77.6% between 29 and 7 days out, and taxes only inside 6 days. Vouchers arrive by email with a number and PIN, last 180 days, and are tied to the original passenger. Source: ZIPAIR's Flex Biz / voucher refund page.
Case 4 — standard voluntary cancellation
No Flex Biz, no airline change, outside 24 hours: the fare and paid add-ons are forfeited. Airport fees and taxes that are only payable if you fly are refunded on request. This is typically a small amount, but it is yours and worth claiming.
Deadlines and timing you must know
90 days to request
ZIPAIR requires refund requests within 90 days of the scheduled boarding date. Miss it and even a refundable amount is lost.
1–2 months to receive
Card refunds are stated as taking one to two months to appear. QR-code payment methods vary. We follow up if a refund passes the stated window.
Ticket issuer controls the request
If a travel agency issued the ticket, submit through them; ZIPAIR will not process a refund for a ticket it did not sell you directly.
Refund vs. cancellation — not the same thing
Cancelling removes you from the flight. Refunding returns money. On ZIPAIR you can cancel and receive nothing but taxes, or you can be refunded without cancelling anything (airline schedule change you did not accept). Because the two are separate steps, we make sure a cancellation is only submitted once the refund entitlement is clear — there is no undo.
