Fixing a date of birth on a ZIPAIR booking
A wrong date of birth is either a harmless typo or a fare problem, and the difference is whether it moves a passenger across one of ZIPAIR's age boundaries. We look at the actual dates, tell you which situation you are in, and handle the request or rebook accordingly.

1-866-884-3459 is our independent assistance number. It is not ZIPAIR Tokyo's official phone number; the airline itself takes inquiries at zipair.net/en/help.
Two very different situations
A. Typo that does not change the fare category
Example: an adult entered as 1985-03-12 instead of 1985-03-21. The passenger is an adult either way. Passport-related details can be reviewed at the airport on departure day, and in practice a DOB slip of this kind is corrected as part of document verification. We still recommend flagging it in advance through the ticket issuer so the record is clean for immigration pre-checks.
B. Error that crosses an age boundary
Example: a child born in 2021 entered as 2019, making them 'over 6' and priced as an adult; or the reverse, where a 7-year-old was priced as U6. Here the fare itself is wrong. ZIPAIR does not re-price an existing booking, so the remedy is to cancel under the applicable rule and rebook at the correct age category. In the second example the airline may refuse boarding at the U6 fare, so it must be fixed before travel.
What we do for you
- Compare the booked DOB with the passport and identify which of A or B applies
- For A: prepare the note to the ticket issuer and the documents to carry on the day
- For B: check the 24-hour rule, Flex Biz and current fares, then quote the real cost of the rebook
- Rebook in the correct category and reconcile add-ons (bag, meal, seat) so nothing is paid twice
Children on ZIPAIR — the details parents ask about
ZIPAIR sells U6 fares for children under 6, requires a seat for every passenger including infants, and does not allow children under 7 in ZIP Full-Flat. Check ZIPAIR's current rule on unaccompanied minors before booking a child traveling alone. If your child's age changes between booking and travel (a birthday before the return flight, for example), the age on the date of each flight is what counts — tell us the dates and we will check both directions.
