ZIPAIR at U.S. airports

ZIPAIR operates Boeing 787-8 flights between Tokyo Narita and five scheduled U.S. gateways, plus date-specific charter flights to Orlando. Each page below is written for that airport: which terminal to go to, how early to arrive for a Narita departure, where the baggage desk is if a bag is missing, and what tends to go wrong for travelers there.

Choose your airport

Los Angeles (LAX)

ZIPAIR's first U.S. route. Tom Bradley International Terminal. Busiest ZIPAIR station in the country.

San Francisco (SFO)

International Terminal. Popular with Bay Area travelers comparing SFO and SJC.

San Jose (SJC)

Smaller international terminal, short walks, often lower fares than SFO on the same week.

Honolulu (HNL)

Hawaii–Tokyo service. Inter-island connections and bag re-check are the main questions.

Houston (IAH)

ZIPAIR's Texas gateway, launched March 2025. First nonstop low-cost option from the South to Japan.

Orlando (MCO) Charter dates only

Not year-round. Inaugural charters in February–March 2026 and further dates in August 2026. Read before booking.

What applies at every U.S. airport

  • Check-in: ZIPAIR counters for Narita departures generally open around 3 hours before departure and close well before departure time — arrive early; late check-in is refused.
  • Cabin baggage is weighed: 7 kg combined for both items. Extra cabin weight must be bought at least 24 hours in advance, never at the airport.
  • Checked bags: pre-purchased online are cheaper; airport purchases add a processing fee.
  • Documents: passport, and for Japan entry the current Visit Japan Web registration; U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays.
  • Missing bag on arrival in the U.S.: report at the baggage service desk before leaving customs and obtain a PIR reference.
Terminal and check-in details change. Confirm the terminal on your ZIPAIR itinerary or the airport's flight board on the day. ZIPAIR USA is an independent assistance service and does not operate any airport counter.
