ZIPAIR at Los Angeles (LAX)
LAX is where ZIPAIR started flying to the United States and remains its busiest U.S. station. Flights use the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT / Terminal B). Because the terminal is large and security lines are long, the most common LAX problem we see is not fare rules — it is travelers arriving too late for the check-in cut-off.

Getting to the ZIPAIR counter
ZIPAIR check-in is on the departures level of TBIT. Counters open roughly 3 hours before departure. Allow extra time on weekends and around Japanese holiday peaks (Golden Week, Obon in mid-August, and the New Year period), when Narita-bound flights on all carriers check in at once. Traffic on Century Boulevard and the LAX-it / rideshare pickup arrangements add 20–40 minutes in the evening rush — ZIPAIR's LAX departures are typically in the afternoon/evening, right in that window.
Baggage at LAX
Cabin bags are weighed at the counter — 7 kg total for both items. If you are over, the airport checked-bag rate includes a processing fee, so pre-purchase online at least the day before. Arriving from Tokyo, ZIPAIR bags come out in the TBIT arrivals hall after immigration; report a missing or damaged bag at the baggage service desk before you exit customs.
